Invisible Institutions Podcast Artwork

The cover art for the Invisible Institutions podcast. It features a set of three transparent boxes. In the first box is a sprouting sunflower; in the second, the sunflower is bent in on itself due to the closed lid of the box. The third box is opened and the sunflower is growing to reach the podcast title at the top of the cover art.

Invisible Institutions is a documentary podcast exploring the past and present of institutions for people labelled with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Canada, created and hosted by Megan Linton.

Based on the cover of a 1991 survey of institutionalization from Statistics Canada, which features three flowers whose growth is hindered by transparent containers, the podcast artwork shows three sunflowers (the symbol for hidden disabilities) in the process of bursting out from their confines.
